Guided tour of Lipari had a great success last summer 2016, that’s why, by popular demand, also for summer 2017, the Tourist Guide Association Eolie Messina Taormina proposes a dip in the archeology: every Fridays at 5 :30 p. m. and Sundays at 10:00 a. m., in a way which lets you know the thousand-year old history of the island, a tourist guide leads visitors in the discovery of the acropolis of Lipari including:
– archaeological site
– Museum
– Cathedral
Even lots of individual tourists appreciate the beauties of the acropolis of Lipari, visiting it by themselves, but they don’t fully understand its importance and value, so the need arised to offer a guided tour service.
Tour description
The tour permits, in short time, to understand how the Aeolian Islands, and Lipari in particular, since the fifth millennium B.C., has been known as a strategic basis for the Mediterranean trade. Moreover, walking around the digging area, it is also possible retracing past 6000 years of the history of Lipari.
In addition to archaeology, the religious aspect is also relevant. The visit to St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral lets us to know the Aeolian people’s deep devotion towards the patron Saint of the islands.

Guided tour fee is € 5,00 per person (12-18 years old € 2,00, free until 12 years old). Museum entrance fee IS NOT INCLUDED.
In conclusion, guided tour for Italian and foreign groups can be arranged on different days and at requested times than the above scheduled ones.
